Raspberry pi and cartrigde reader

I have a game boy advanced that stopped working. I was think in using the case, lcd and cartridge reader from it and adapting a raspberry pi model b to substitute the fried motherboard. Could you give some pointers in this project, i don't have a clue in how to use the original cartridge reader on the pi to read the original game boy and game boy advanced games i have.

@junior santolin if I was in your situation, I would completely discard the GameBoy electronics and focus only on the Pi. You can load the Pi with a custom OS with lots of emulators (including the GameBoy, GBA, etc), like e.g., the EmulationStation. Then you could use the SD card slot on the Pi to load it with roms for the emulator.
You could also enclose the Pi inside the GameBoy case and wire the original controls into the Pì. That would make a beautiful Pi to GameBoy conversion.

I believe there's a Ben Heck video of a Pi to handheld conversion, it may be a good idea to watch it for other ideas.

The retrode can be used to read the cartridges via an adaptor although this sis very bulky so I suggest you use the retrode to dump your carts and play them leagly on an emulater. Just unplug the retrode for portable play, and as a bonus, legitimately play SNES and genesis games.

Hi, I stumbled into this article, it tells you exactly how someone brought their old GameBoy back to life with a Raspberry Pi. Have a look at it. Personally, this is the way I would go.
