Hey Ben,
Could you do an episode on lasercutting various materials?
I tried cutting PVC but that was a disaster and it almost damaged my machine with the (poisonous) chlorate fumes that made my machine sticky. Fortunately I could clean it off but it was a really bad idea to do this.
I also tried cutting acrylic but that also didn't work very well.
I couldn't find very much on this topic on the internet. Only some things about cutting acrylic glass (plexy glass) but what I tried didn't work out. The glass didn't cut and melted back together after the laser had passed. I tried different speeds and power settings but no luck. And when it was done it looked really ugly (brown melten pieces). Not like what you see on the internet.
When I look at what you lasercut, that looks really great.
How do you do that?
Thanks.
