I would like to convert my old SLR film camera.

Hi I would like to convert my old 35mm SLR film camera into a digital one

Why?

Because I have a number of high quality lens that can only fit a camera body.

As Film is getting harder to buy and develop, I was wondering if you had any thoughts of making a show or shows on how you would make/fit a digital back (that is replace the film with a digital sensor).

If you look on the INTERNET about this , there would appear to be a couple people who have tried this but at high cost, Do you think you could come up with something perhaps using a existing digital camera and removing the lens and grafting it to the SLR camera body.

    I have a 400mm telephoto lens of unknown vintage I was given by someone that possibly dates back to the 1960s, I was able to make out the mount type ('M42 Thread') and buy an adaptor from Fleabay for less than £3 GBP that enables me to attach it to my (F-Mount) Nikon D40 and take some reasonably good photos. It'd be a fun project if you have the time and money, but getting a what is essentially a mechanical camera to interface with modern electronics while managing to achieve the image quality needed to do your lenses justice sounds like the reason why the commercial attempts to this end have so far failed to make any headway.
