Please can you guys help me, I have a old laptop which is not working but its screen is perfectly fine, so I am thinking using laptop screen as monitor to my Android HDMI stick, so my question is is there any way we can use it as a monitor with out driver board for lcd, as Andriod mini pc has hdmi as display port?

Unfortunately the LCD requires a driver board. A driver board is required to power both the LCD and it's backlight and most importantly for all of it's data lines.

You can find driver boards with HDMI input, however you need to find a driver board that will work with your LCD Panel. You will need to know what kind of panel you have in order to get the right driver board. You can usually find this information on the back of the LCD Panel after removing it from the housing of the laptop.

Driver boards can be found on ebay for a reasonable price. Usually the seller will have a list of LCD's that are known to work with the driver board they have available, however if you do not see your panel on the list or are unsure a driver board you are looking at will work for your LCD Panel, you can usually send the information about your panel (The number and information on the back of the panel as mentioned before) to the seller, and they can usually tell you if the driver board will work with your display.

Since a driver board is required, most people will generally tell you it is not worth the money, time, or hassle since you can usually find a LCD Panel already ready to go for around the same price as a driver board, if not cheaper.

If you go the route of finding a driver board, check out this tutorial over at Instructables. This person pretty much shows you how to recycle a laptop LCD panel for use as a display.
