Build Idea: Raspberry Pi UPS(uninterruptible power supply)

I want to run a web server on my pi but I'm worried about power outages.

I want to see Ben and Felix build a UPS for the pi. Being able to use 18650 li-ion batteries would be awesome but a supercapacitor solution is fine too as long as it can give the pi enough time to power down properly.

That sounds a great idea for a project although there are some relatively good and cheap off the shelf solutions that would do the job. I often use a USB powerbank to power my Raspberry Pi, all you need…

I also think an episode on power management in general and a look at a common easy to use battery charging ic with pass through features would make for a good watch

That sounds a great idea for a project although there are some relatively good and cheap off the shelf solutions that would do the job.

I often use a USB powerbank to power my Raspberry Pi, all you need is one that is capable of charging and discharging at the same time. Cool. I'll look into these. The off the shelf solutions look nice but I would like to use it with other kinds of SBCs too and some of it may not fit easily to some odd shaped SBCs.

The power banks I have couldn't do it. I'll search for a cheap one that can.

I still want to see them build one that can be built for cheap and can be used with all kinds of SBCs easily.
