I think a handheld Xbox would be nice...

I have all the respect in the world for Ben's Xbox laptop but would love to see something smaller. Since the Xbox components are mostly standard pc hardware wouldn't it be possible to use new X86 hardware to build a smaller and better Xbox? Thinking along the lines of some of the Atom SOC boxes or maybe a Zotac mini pc.

well, It would need a new OS, as I'm pretty sure that Xbox systems don't have drivers, just a hardware-reliant OS.

I believe there is a OS kernel embedded in the BIOS/Firmware. There are copies of the firmware and custom versions available on the internet but I admit I haven't the skills to go through and check if it would be compatible with modern hardware. Now I know I left a few engineers laying around here somewhere..........
