Choosing the right chip for my project.

Hello guys, I am confused how to choose a right chip for my project. There a lot of chips available when I google, but too confused to choose one.

I am looking a chip for a Bluetooth headphone module with an EPROM to store the voice commands.

    This is always a difficult problem when starting a new design.  Here are some ideas on how to start a design:

    1. Begin with a simple block diagram -  Get a rough idea of the the features of your design will be implemented (both in hardware and software).  Will the bluetooth be supported by the main processors or by a separate chip?  Size the memory requirements of the processor (FLASH, RAM and EEPROM) and the speed requirements.  Also begin to determine needed items like peripherals, I/O pins and any other features.
    2. I usually search for a processor using a distributors website.  Many of these sites have good parametric search engines where you can narrow down your search in steps.  Start with the most concrete of your search requirements (i.e FLASH, RAM and/or EEPROM size).  Also try and narrow your search down to parts families that you are familiar with (used in another project and/or have tools that are appropriate, i.e. compiler, development tools).
    3. Keep narrowing down the parts available until you have a manageable set of parts to consider.
