I bought an Amazon Echo, and 3 Echo Dots. They work great to allow me to control radio station content playing on my 4 Sonos speakers. But I used to be able to play back my Apple Music playlists using the Echo / Dot, and Apple Music... until Amazon took that functionality away.
I watched your "Voice Controlled Workbench" 2-parter a month or two ago, and loved what you guys were able to accomplish. But I don't quite understand all the ins and outs of .js and such to be able to create my own voice controls in the Amazon Developer toolkit on my own.
It seems that with the right people, like the guy who helped you "voice control" your workbench, it wouldn't be too hard to write your own "program" to control the Sonos speakers with Amazon Echo, and even allow for Apple Music to play over Sonos using the aforementioned voice commands.
Has anyone asked this question already? Is it Taboo? Am I going to be struck down for creating an account and asking it myself.
The power of voice is amazing, but I miss the functionality when I'm REQUIRED to pick up a tablet or phone and use touchscreen controls to do what I had done quite simply with MY VOICE!!!
Thanks for the time everyone. Love the show, the site, and the acting!!!
