Build Suggestion:  Raspberry Pi based SD or Compact flash card backup device.

I take a lot of digital photos and don't always have a computer nearby.  It would be useful to have a stand alone backup device for removable media.  This could store the photos on a solid state drive or just duplicate the contents onto another card.  Seems this could be done with a Pi and be housed in a cool case.

We talked about making one of these on the show, calling it "super dumper". The target audience was professional photographers, specifically for weddings. They often shoot hundreds of photos and need to be able to back those up quickly. We tried to find a portable solution that could copy SD cards quickly. We got stuck when trying to keep it compact and portable while getting a decent transfer speed. We couldn't find an affordable way to do it. Does anyone else have ideas? We were trying to keep it no larger than a briefcase.
