Help The Ben Heck Team Decide on a Future Build Project!

What Prototype Would You Like to See as a Commercially Available Product?

If you're a regular viewer of The Ben Heck Show then you know a new episode is released every week. What you might not realize is that a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure tight schedules and deadlines are met. If you're working on a project over a longer period of time you have more time to make adjustments. More time means a much more robust design and detailed build.

With this in mind, the Team decided to take a look back at previous builds, select a few of their favorites and build them again from the ground up with a particular focus on and intent to actually bring them to market! We’d like your help in selecting our third long-term build. See the list below, make your choice and let us know why. We’ll start on these projects soon and see which one we can take the furthest!

I would like to see the mini pinball, because its not only the most fun project in my mind, but also very educational to put the kit together and I would spend more time with that pinball machine than…

Ben Heck Mini Pinball machine: I won't pretend I'm not pinball biased, but that aside I think its real value is as an educational kit. I could imagine with some PSD and AI templates you could develop a…

I've been hoping for a minipin kit ever since I first saw it on pinside. It looks to be such a fun project that would allow for some customization. It's not only an educational project but the finished…

    Christopher,

I did originally wonder whether this might be a possibility but the pinball machine looks pretty complicated to design and build and uses many laser cut parts, which is not something I can do easily. I have watched a couple of Ben Heck's videos and there seems to be a lot involved. Maybe with some more recent technology it might be possible to design something simpler and expandable.

What about a full size, or at least bigger, pinball machine. Or one that can be expanded.

I think the most interesting applications are "A Seeing Eye Hat" and the "Wireless Wire Tracer"

If anyone in the community wants to help rscasny realize his dream of the an IoT toaster robot drone be sure to list the steps you took to make it, schematics would be nice, and provide video proof that it works!  lol

    An IoT toaster robot drone.

I want a robot to put the bread in the toaster and once it's done have a drone carry it over to me while I'm reading my paper. (buttering the toast would be nice but optional.)

So I have been wondering if you could make a handbrake  out of a ps4 controller motherboard and any handbrake the reason behind this is when I'm playing psvr you can use the g29 steering wheel and you can have a ps4 controller on the same account and playing dirt rally vr you can map the controller to use the analog as the handbrake so i wish to figure it out so i don't have to mount a whole controller not to a handbrake

Those are ok projects but how about a RC blimp that sends images back to base via ham radio. Couple that with an atmospheric energy antenna and you have a pretty cool project I think. I'm planning such a project in the future but my 3d printer needs a hot end tune up beforehand. Another project I'm going to take on is running the motorized bike I built off of browns gas. I already have it tapped for nitrous intake, lol. I also have a website that I'm slowly adding the progress of these projects to http://tekninja.website. If mr. heck is looking for anymore assistants with lots of cool ideas and better jokes image I'm in the madison area hint hint.
