Help The Ben Heck Team Decide on a Future Build Project!

What Prototype Would You Like to See as a Commercially Available Product?

If you're a regular viewer of The Ben Heck Show then you know a new episode is released every week. What you might not realize is that a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure tight schedules and deadlines are met. If you're working on a project over a longer period of time you have more time to make adjustments. More time means a much more robust design and detailed build.

With this in mind, the Team decided to take a look back at previous builds, select a few of their favorites and build them again from the ground up with a particular focus on and intent to actually bring them to market! We’d like your help in selecting our third long-term build. See the list below, make your choice and let us know why. We’ll start on these projects soon and see which one we can take the furthest!

I would like to see the mini pinball, because its not only the most fun project in my mind, but also very educational to put the kit together and I would spend more time with that pinball machine than…

I've been hoping for a minipin kit ever since I first saw it on pinside. It looks to be such a fun project that would allow for some customization. It's not only an educational project but the finished…

Ben Heck Mini Pinball machine: I won't pretend I'm not pinball biased, but that aside I think its real value is as an educational kit. I could imagine with some PSD and AI templates you could develop a fun 1-2 week summer or after school program for a Scout troop or electronic/pinball clinic with these at the core. I would imagine a group of 3-5 kids per machine build work nicely as a scaling base.

All of these would be fun, so I would also like to see these and others come back for a vote when this one is complete, since each has a lot of value but for priority, for me its the Ben Heck Mini Pinball machine. Bringing making and pinball to the next generation via BHS!

Recommend a playfield overlay laser cut from plastic, so any art type can be put underneath, to support those that may create artwork by hand and need a smooth surface to play over.

Depending on the timing, I'm more than happy to help create and share a lesson plan and build guide that can be included with the kit.

    1. You cant replecate the whole game-mechanics, eg you cant place the redstone torch on every block in real life.

    2. You dont have to use a vr-headset, you can play minecraft also on a normal computer.

    3. Those real life blocks already exist, but they ate not as educational as the real game or real electronic circuits.

Just imitate Hollywood already and remake all the things!

(and make that last thing for the first time as well.)

I'd love to see the wireless wire tracer. Don't build the cube toy thing... it already exists. Cubelets Robot Construction for Kids | Modular Robotics  I saw it when the Google crew brought the robotics stuff to the Franklin Institute in Philly.

I would love to see the hat for blind people. Ben already helps gamers with disabilities by making modded controllers but this could be a whole new level. If not this then Pinball please.

I would like to see the wireless wire tracer. It would be really neat if it works on energized circuits (120/240 vac)
