555 Timer Delay option in Bistable Mode?

johnnymac1
johnnymac1 over 4 years ago

Hello,

I am wondering if there is a means to set up a 555 timer in bistable mode, with a time delay on the reset. I was thinking maybe an RC circuit on either pins 5 or 6?

Also Karen (last name?) in one of her YouTube videos says that the 555 is "generally" used in one of three modes. Does this mean that there are other modes besides monostable, bistable and astable?

Thank you, John

There's a lot you can do with a 555 if you want. Well worth Googling if you are interested. Here's a few to get you going (133 of them, quality mixed !): https://www.electroschematics.com/category/555…

Mike thank you! I added switch after the timer resistor and was able to tell the circuit when to countdown to off.

johnnymac1 Your idea of an RC circuit will work.  Reference this relay board.  https://www.amazon.com/NE555-Switch-Adjustable-Module-Shield/dp/B08HVBSCXW/
