I finally pulled back out my old previously fired PS1 screen from the Hack Like Heck Challenge, and I had a few new ideas. For the longest time I was dreading pulling it back out, mainly because when ever I tried messing with it, it would just drain my time and energy. When it first stopped working, I just bought a new one for the N64 portable and it worked great, but recently I have been looking into how to fix the old one. I found out after more research that it was a back light fuse problem! So I removed the fuse and soldered the two contacts together (that is what the forum said) and know it works great! I hope to buy a new fuse so that the LCD does not have a risk of short circuiting, but if I am careful it works great!
