This is great. Thank you for the video. Now don't have to reinvent the wheel. I already bought a keyboard and Pico. My purpose is to actually let the pins of the Pico fire off the trs tip and ring respectively and thus allow the keyboard to be a keyer for my radio. I'm hoping the code you have will allow the pins to do this.

Arduino project on pico for morse code with some changes works almost excellent with USB keyboard now after changing USB KEYCODE TO ASCII to match used keyboard for swedish special letters etc.
This with possibility to change speed and frequency of tone from keyboard clicks.
Will finalize with a added battery internal and possibility to change volume from keyboard. Needs to be a boost to around 5V for my keyboard to work correct.
This to get a standalone working keyboard with morse sound.
Unfortunate keyboard+pico takes around 100mA in current so not optimal for battery since it will give short time until battery is empty.
    But,
This morse keyboard is a great thing for my grandchildren to learn morse by using this keyboard.
Thanks for the inspiration although the original code was not useful to me since I did not get this to work.

Using the debug probe I can confirm that host_cdc_mdc_hid works as expected when installed on pico
Both when connecting a mouse and a keyboard it is recognized as right type
And when typing on keyboard serial port prints on screen

If you have a spare Pico, you can use it as Picoprobe. The approach is documented in the SDK documentation.

If you happen to have a XIAO Pico, we've ported Picoprobe firmware to that. See here:  Seeed Studio XIAO RP2040 as DebugProbe

Yes, I have compiled all examples and loaded the UF2 of the project that You point to several times and it loads.
But I have not found any description in documentation what expected result is for this code does. The only description I found is this page:
    https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=348689

I don't have a serial port connected now to pico now, I assume picoprobe will show status on  USB port when connected and print on serial port.
Will connect picoprobe when it has arrived to me.

    btw
I tried the Arduino project below on pico for morse code on a LED and it worked and lights the LED as expected after some minor changes.
It does not have the reading from USB port of course.
    https://www.arduino.cc/education/morse-code-project
Might be my base for the morse code for keyboard...
