Buttons, switches, and voice commands are overrated. What if we could control electronics by playing music? Would this be practical? No. Would this be fun? Oh yeah. Join DJ on his journey to build a reverse music box that will only open once it detects the right melody.

Didn't Drax Industries try something similar in the Bond film Moonraker ? I can recall this slightly different take on a musical box lock using a keypad instead of the microphone: Tune lock box https:…

Really clever project DJ! You had my attention at the beginning since I wondered how you’d pull it off. Was not disappointed. Would recommend. 5 stars. Next time though, can you drop your screen’s resolution…

How cute! I want to learn more about the programmable LED strip.

And then make it listen for John Coltrane's solo on Giant Steps.

    Fantastic!

Good starting point to my puzzle box!

Would you post the code, please?

Next time though, can you drop your screen’s resolution when capturing the code? It was practically impossible to follow along on a mobile screen.

Also, big props on the Fourier pronunciation. I’ve been saying it for years without thinking about it’s origin or if I said it correctly.

I can recall this slightly different take on a musical box lock using a keypad instead of the microphone:

which may also be of interest.

There was also this project which is perhaps a bit closer, where you have to sing to open the lock:
