Since common technologies like white LEDS and lithium polymer batteries were either not invented or not common when the Sega Game Gear was released, so to make the system have more features at the time, there were numerous accessories released, but the system all the while can seem quite dated by today’s standards . What would you do to make a seemingly antiquated video game system more modern and advanced? Watch Adam implement one of the most popular game gear accessories while bringing the handheld to the 21st century.

Great mods!  It's hard to tell in the video, but how even is the backlighting using the two LEDs with the reflector?

Great job,  Nice mod.  "Washed out" is relative.  Have you seen a Game Boy Color screen lately?  And... you fixed it.  All impressive.

Thanks! The main purpose of the backlighting was to decrease the power draw of the system, so it did that. I nearly tripled the battery life, but at most viewing angles the screen looks pretty washed out (which is what it looks like in the video).
