While many characters sparked DJ’s imagination for invention and quest for technical skills, one of the earliest was everyone’s favorite 1980’s cyborg policeman: RoboCop, er uh Inspector Gadget! While Inspector Gadget’s gadgets certainly obeyed the laws of cartoon physics rather than real physics, they’re just beyond the edge of plausibility. So in a year long preparation for Halloween 2021, DJ is setting out to make a voice activated hat that can summon real gadgets from his head. No plastic surgery necessary. Some assembly required.

Haha, love it. I saw the neopixel code and got very excited      I was not disappointed!

Maybe you should cut your hair to make the hat fit better?! We all have to make sacrifices for our creations!

    Next up…

Great work DJ, loved the copter bit and the hinge setup of the crown flaps is pretty ingenious

This project is pretty awesome.  That servo motion visualization is neat. Being newb in mechanical design and CAD, I would love content walking through the 3d modeling and design process.  Or if possible, sharing the raw Fusion360 project would be super valuable, and we can then retrace steps and build on it - I don't get that from the step files.  Thank you so much

Thanks Matt! It's perhaps a cheap trick of my builds since nostalgia's the one this people are always hungry for. I always just hope I can take people back/ put a smile on for a brief moment

I am so loving this build! Even if it's not a real helicopter

Between Rosie and Inspector Gadget, your latest projects are hitting all the right nostalgia buttons for this year! Pardon me while I curl into a ball and pretend it's the 80s again....

Great project - and I just loved your "evil genius" laugh when that copter popped up.

Lets hope you continue to use your super powers (and laugh) for the betterment of us all mua-ha-ha-ha.

"...Maybe you should cut your hair to make the hat fit better?!..."

get the servo linkages wrong with that propeller and instead of 'go-go gadget copter', you may well end up with 'go-go gadget hair-clipper'
