Clem dropped his favorite screwdriver and instead of using a broomstick to retrieve it, like a sane person, he builds a WiFi controlled Raspberry Pi based robot with a live video feed using the HQ Camera to retrieve it. Along the way he builds an easy to use robotics add-on for the Pi that you at home to build your own awesome robots!

Great robot tank, Clem! Next step, you ask? An easy step would be to add spotlights on the front to see under the cabinets a little more clearly. For a bigger project, you could of course add a robot arm…

Nice build Clem. Have you considered setting up the tank with a metal detector? DAB

Great video. Will we get the PCB design bonus video?

the prints were all done on a prusa mini ifirc. so it should fit on most printers out there.

A great project. I liked the wheels and the general hull design. I might have to borrow some of them, ,although I think my 3D printer has a smaller maximum size than yours. Maybe I need a new 3D printer!

"Also the robots shape is intended to keep it driving even if it flips upside down!" - yeah thought as much, but that switch might turn lethal then image

One of the most interesting robot projects I have seen is the build of Dizzy an aware kind of robot. https://sbolt.home.xs4all.nl/edz.htm

Dizzy can tell he is hungry (needs charging) and find his charging slot.

He can see people and interact with the with his voice (he had his own language). He can act in a somewhat animal way - Be scared, hide, avoid bright lights.

    He responds to touch.

it would be possible to build 2 and make them able to interact with each other.

Dizzy lives in a closed environment but the Pi should have the power to allow him to roam free and come when "called"

just a few suggestions for the furture.

AI of course is a possibility, making the robot a self learning machine.

Over-engineered solution to simple problem? This sounds like either Clem or Silicon Valley image

    Great build, dude!

Yes such a grid would be a good standard interface for a robotic plattform ! neat idea!
Also the robots shape is intended to keep it driving even if it flips upside down!
provisions on the bot for an MPU6050 allow to adapt the controlls and Camera output rotation on the fly in case it flips over!

Great episode! I always enjoy watching robot missions like rctestflight has so many of them.

So Stephen Hawes did an upgrade on his PNP a bit ago and used this raster of holes peak array like Bunnie Huang did. 30mm grid and a 30mm grid offset and diagonal. This might come in handy if you want to mount things on the inside and on the outside as well.

This robot looks like it wouldn't mind to drive on it's head, but that switch could become a liability then image

The servos mounted like that should also allow for a robot with legs easily, just looking at my petoi bittle. Cool thing, hoping for lots of robots to be posted here!
