Massive Raspberry Pi -- Episode 507

Way back in 2019, element14 hosted the PiCasso Design Challenge, challenging our members to use the Raspberry Pi Model 3 B+ to create masterpieces or works of art. What would be more meta than a work of art based on the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ than a Raspberry Pi 6 times it’s actual size? And it’s not just art. . . the USB connectors may not be functional at 6x size, but all the GPIO pins function - and are driven by a Raspberry Pi.

My son recently graduated from high school and the school he attended focused on technology and arts. If selected, I would donate this to the school to hang in their computer labs to inspire and awe the students. My son got so much from the school, it would be wonderful to give something unique back.

correct so the pi was the max I could cut on my cnc safely without extending my bed and using more time. my mpcnc is 2ftx4ft but actual usable is just under that. I also think it ended that size as well due to the scale of a few of the parts on my 3d printer which my plate is only 220mmx220mm. But yes it was due to limitations of the machine it ended at that exact size. and on the cnc there is the outer cutout on the cnc that took a bit of the size away as well. which was over 12mm in total if I recall correctly.

Did you decide on a scale or did you "just" start with a 20x32 board? I made this little table and got a bit confused

I assume you started with a 20x32 board that fits your CNC and then projected something scaled onto it?

To me now after this time I honestly have a blur when it comes to the printing. but it was 1,041,084mm of filament and 440hrs of printing.
