Original Xbox Teardown - Save your Vintage Tech! -- The Electronics Inside 59

Having previously encountered some capacitors that had aged horribly in a piece of old-school electronics, I thought it was time I checked on the status of the capacitors on an original 2001 Xbox I have lurking in a cupboard. It's currently working, so let's keep it that way, and also find out what makes it tick in this teardown!

Good project and excellent advice.

When in doubt change all of the electrolytic capacitors.

I was hoping that there was a pre assebled kit of capacitors for the xBox, there certainly was for the BBC Micro.

Sadly I didn't find one, so when I get around to ordering the BoM, we'll make sure a list if added here!

I would never think of the preventative maintenance task of capacitor replacement. You mentioned a capacitor kit, is that an OEM part replacement or did you just inventory the capacitors and made an order?
