Casio PT-30 Electronic Musical Instrument Teardown -- The Electronics Inside 60

I recently attended EMF Camp, and was lucky enough to see Sam from "Look Mum, No Computer" do an amazing live set. I was inspired by his modular synth to take a look at an old keyboard to see what was inside! I realised recently that we haven't torn into any musical instruments! To remedy this, I thought we should take a look inside a nice old keyboard!

Nice tear down.

They did a lot of very interesting design work back in those days.

I agree, they did a good job of keeping the analog and digital sections separate to reduce cross talk and voltage spikes.

For an Audio application it must be particularly challenging design, as the user will hear any defects!
