What's Inside a Fujifilm BZ02 Point and Shoot Camera -- The Electronics Inside 67

David has covered a few different camera types on The Electronics Inside, from Instax to Polaroid, DSLRs, and even the floppy-based Mavica. But he hasn't yet touched on that (largely forgotten) moment in time when point and shoot digital cameras were a must have!

Cell phones at that point did have cameras, but they were terrible, and smartphones were just getting going, so the amateur photographers of the world loved their point and shoot digital cameras! Let's find out what's going on inside the guts of this Fujifilm classic.

Thanks DAB! After all these digital cameras, I guess an APS camera would be a good next step?

    Good teardown.

I am always amazed at the ingenuity used to put these cameras together.

I have taken some of the old 35mm automatic film cameras apart and they have a wealth of reusable components.

I haven't really looked, but I would think the likely damage to the CCD in trying to remove it, and the dedicated driver hardware makes it pretty tough to reuse, especially when you consider how cheap and small a module like this could be?

I'm glad someone understood it, I didn't know how well it was coming across!

Nice teardown.  I know how mechanical cameras worked< from taking apart mechanical cameras back-in-the-day, I like the explanation of how the shutter mechanism is done in this new(-ish) point and shoot.

I wonder if that CCD element could be used in some new project?.
