In Karen’s most recent episode of The Learning Circuit, she shows off some of the most amazing types of transformers, the Tesla coil. Tesla coils are a type of step-up transformer that incorporates a special type, called a resonant transformer. These function at a high voltage and high frequency. That high frequency can be modulated to even play music. The visible sparks generated actually excite the air surrounding the coil, and make sound. I am 81 tears old. A Dr, friend of mine said I was too old to learn a new subject and that my mind could not retain the information. Well, I have watched all 98 episodes of your series and I can tell my Dr friend he does not know what he is talking about. Thank you, Karen, you have inspired me to seek more "New Knowledge". I have built several of the kits you taught us about and I feel very confident in what I have learned. I only wished you would make more episodes.
