Solder along with Karen as she shows you how to review resistor codes using a substitution box.  The kit is useful for prototyping resistors. Once assembled, it can be used on an array of resistors, ranging from 10ohms to 1 mega ohm.  The kit includes the knobs to switch from ohm to kilo ohm, a PCB, a bag of resistors, and the parts for the enclosure. It also includes a manual that gives you the placement of the resistors on the PCB, its value, and its color code.  Karen is going to show you how to figure these out manually.

is this resistor sub box able to handle higher voltages?  I need it to test some resistors (dropping resistors) on old Fender amp.  One in particular.  It'd be nice not to guess.  Right now it's not letting enough DC volts thru to pre-amp.  should be higher,  I guess I could use Ohm's Law, but the box would be wonderful as there is higher input voltage than when the amp was designed (1965).

Thanks for you're video, I enjoyed watching and learning.

    I'm talking 200 - 425 volts DC.  I hope I can use it.\

    Regards,

    Peter

makerkaren - looks like you got one of these Velleman Kit resistor sets with the typo in the table on the back of the package. The stated tolerances for gold and silver bands appear to be reversed in the table on the back. Not sure if this set is included with the kit, but if so, one for learners to watch out for if they plan to keep the printed table for reference.
