As the usual follow up to the previous PIR lesson video, Karen shows how to use a PIR sensor in a project. This circuit uses a one-shot 555 timer to control a relay to turn on lights and fans to make a motion-activated snow globe. When motion is detected, the fans will blow snow around the light up tree inside the globe and then automatically shut off.

You'll probably need a bigger fan. I used a splatter screen for my mesh to keep the snow out of the fan, but you could probably just use mesh for a screen door if you need something bigger. I can't think of any other large, clear, cylindrical objects so yeah, a water bottle would probably be your best bet unless you make one from scratch.

    I love this so much.

Really want to super size it for our living room window, trying to find a 3 gallon water dispenser bottle to build it in but no one on freecycle seems to have one to give!
