The tennis ball pitch machine was a fun project to stretch our skills. We took it on after Connor joined the tennis team after pricing one online. We realized we could build one for a fraction of the cost. It also was a great project to further learn Autodesk Fusion's joints and 2D drawing features. We also explored 3D Printer part design to maximize strength and ease of assembly.
If we were to do this one again, we could allow the ability to easily adjust the wheel distance of the pitch wheels. We found this critical to the extent of the throw. If we were going to totally trick it out, we’d add a remote to change the arc and speed of the pitch as well as introduce a random mode.
