Vault Build Giveaway

Win the Xbox One X | Win DJ's Pip-Boy 2000 | Win Multi-System Retro Game Controller | Win a Pi 4 Laptop | Build Inside the Box

The element14 Community has been home to great video content since 2010 when The Ben Heck Show launched on the Community and the Revision3 network.  One of Ben’s favorite things to do is to tear down and sometimes rebuild electronics gaming devices.  In 2017 (On Episode 315) he voided the warranty on the latest Xbox release, the Xbox One X.

Ben didn’t have a build in mind for this unit so he boxed it and we found it in the vault!

We’re giving this beauty away to the Community member who would love to build his or her own gaming device mod based on this Xbox One X.

To enter for a chance to win, comment below telling us about your favorite gaming mod that's been posted on the element14 Community. It could be an element14 presents episode or a member project or something from one of our Design Challenges or even something you’ve created.

For an entry to be accepted into this contest, you'll need to tell us about your favorite gaming mod - or tell us how you'd like to mod an Xbox One X.

I don't need an X-Box but just to kick off the comments, I like the game hacks by Andy West, in particular his Nintendo Superscope: Episode 469: Nintendo Super Scope Modded For Modern Televisions My first…

    Hi,

My favourite project I've seen on element14 is the episode 449, where they made a tamagachi virtual pet with adruino mkr zero. Also the other episode in which the created a nintendo super scope mode for modern television.

If I happen to get my hands on the xbox one x, I'll couple a liquid cooler to the APU and also add a thermal sensor to detect overheating. If the console overheat above a certain temperature an alert beep will be produced using a beeper. And I'll replace the hdd with a sata ssd. And also I'll attach a rechargeable battery to the controller.

I'll be really thankful if you can give me the console.

Well I saw most games are be done using ray tracing for light shadows more glamour, so I would try to make n chipset mod that bei ng hacked to the processor like the old times when they chiped Ps2 or Ps1..my understanding ray tracing is being pre done before the game release.. so it uses alot of proccesor power the mod will be able to add ray tracing to the games without slowing the xbox or cap processor power...well think that could work hehe

I can't enter this competition... image but I'm still going to share that my favourite will always be the Episode 141: Ben's ZX Spectrum Mod Part 1 Episode - although by the end of it there wasn't much left of the original ZX Spectrum so it was more of a rebuild, it still required a lot of knowledge about the original ZX Spectrum and its processor chips, especially the ZLA custom silicone. A lot of research went into it, design for the case and also the printed circuit boards - it also got to travel to the UK!
