I made this LED 3D matrix display as project of interest. It is an 8*8*8 led cube. With blue diffused LEDs. Diffused LEDs are good in brightness that's why i chose them. Here are some pics and demo.

    yup it took almost 15 days to solder all those LEDs and i am using arduino for micro controller and for the driver circuit i am using 8 74hc574 ICs (these are d-flipflops ) and a demux  and for power i am using computer power supply.

    Cool, you've done a great job getting that to work like that. It would be nice and interesting for everybody if you could add more of these details including a quick sketch of the schematic and code snippets and descriptions of how your code is working to your main blog post above. After watching your video demo I'm sure others will be wanting to look at how you've done it image
