Sub-1GHz Bands, Augmented Alarm and Alert systems, Bird Feeder Defender, or Home Decoration Projects? What projects do you want to work on next?

It's early but there looks like there is a lot of interest in a Sub-1GHz projects.   Is there any particular board or kit that any of you would be interested in using to build your projects?

Great outdoors competition?   Any clever names to call the contest?

How about an elegant title like "Automation Alfresco" ? 

A LoRa Gateway Hat would be awesome.

I second the motion for a LoRa Gateway.  That would be fantastic.  I would repurpose my Pi4 for that.

The toy on image which I posted when proposing Sub-1GHz topic is MAX41460EVKIT which is device which can be used for transmitting (but not receiving) and is mostly used for implementing proprietary unidirectional communication.

Unluckily it is quite expensive toy. There is cheaper alternative with the same chip: https://www.mikroe.com/ism-tx-click and there is its brother for receiving side https://www.mikroe.com/ism-rx-3-click . Unluckily none of them is available on Newark/Farnell, On official store they both cost 23 USD in total which is quite a good price I think. I have currently TX click only and I most probably will use it in my project.

Other options are boards with MCU which has integrated transmitter and receiver. For example STM32 NUCLEO:

Maybe there are some other options achieving simple sub GHz communication which I am not aware of.

Cheaper is probably better for something like this.    Just want to encourage more participation.   You're always free to use whatever components you want if you want to go with something more expensive.

Awesome.  That is very much what I was envisioning.  Makes me wonder if I did see this back when it was originally posted and kind of filed into my mind subconsciously.  Thanks for digging this up.
