Sub-1GHz Bands, Augmented Alarm and Alert systems, Bird Feeder Defender, or Home Decoration Projects? What projects do you want to work on next?

Last time we did one of these polls you chose Off-the-Grid projects followed by Sub-1Ghz Bands and Augmented Alert Systems.    Taking a look at the last poll and then  Theme Suggestions I've added a couple of  themes: Bird Feeder Defender and Home Decoration to the list of themes for the next project competition.   Keep the project ideas coming and vote on the next Project14 we do!

It isn't a decoration, but I really want to build a lighting system for my workbench that gets lots of light to the bench regardless of of how many instruments are stacked on the bench shelves.

I went with sub-Gigahertz BUT the Bird Feeder Defender sounds awesome as well. I have an idea for the sub-Gig, but my gut says the bird feeder defender will be way more fun - if I can figure something…

How about a device to make your picnic or outdoor relaxing more pleasant ? An automatic drink refresher, bug repellents, auto turn on tiki torches, etc ???

I also went with sub-gigahertz as I also have an interesting project idea, that I can hopefully finish in time..

A rodent ate the 24V data signal that goes to the condenser of the cooler outside of my building.  I am just wondering why there is no wireless solution for it instead of rewiring through the building. The repair guy said he hasn't seen such a thing.

A bird feeder seems like a great idea. I had a bird feeder that I've build with my son and every weekend we would fill it with food and just watch them every morning - dozens of those little feathery friends - to go and have a great time.

I would do something like that, but with some automation, like a camera and some twitter updates or an automatic alarm to send me a message to go and fill the feeder .. Something on those lines..

I put these in the workshop and the garage. They are helpful as long as there are bulb sockets in the ceiling. COB LED strips would be another possibility for a DIY

My project idea straddles home decoration and sub 1GHz bands.  I like the way the early transistor radios look.  Their overall design and aesthetic are just beautiful.  Anyway I was thinking of 3D printing a shell that resembles those old radios.  In terms of functionality I was going to see if I could create a little board that taps into the internet and acquires the channels that way.  That would allow the ability to 'tune' to channels beyond my local broadcast range.  But the more I think about it, that sort of thing seems needlessly complicated.  Maybe just giving it regular AM/FM functionality will be good enough.

I am using something very similar right now, but they are not ideal for my set up.

Augmented alarm and alert systems sounds like a good idea and definitely something that can also be used in our homes!
