I have a good idea for a mod that I would find extremely useful:
It seems like it should be possible to turn my phone into a bluetooth amp for my guitar:
The mod would consist of 2 parts:
1) a very powerful speaker that your phone snaps to, like the JBL sound boost, but louder if possible. I don't think it would be necessary to have the phone still be small enough to be in your pocket. However this mod would realistically only serve to be used as a practice amp so extreme volume wouldn't be necessary. In fact the JBL level of volume would probably suffice.
2) a blue tooth dongle that plugs into your guitar that transmits to your phone (standard 1/4 inch input cable)
This could replace the need for a practice amp and would make traveling with a guitar so much easier. (They already make travel sized electric guitars) I envision that the mod could also allow some type of interface with amp modeling or different effects, and maybe recording/looping options)
I'm sure this can already be accomplished using a combination of existing devices, bit a mod that simply snaps on with a Bluetooth tranitter that plugs into your guitar would be so convenient.
Unfortunately I am not an engineer, however, I would love to see this type of mod developed.
