That is really interesting. I knew of bipolar LEDs that were red and green, but those same colour one's seem to be made for string lights in particular.
What advantages does it have over Bi-color LED and RGB LED?
One advantage is that when driving from AC there is less flicker and better load distribution.
It also means you don't need to worry about reverse breakdown - only current limiting.
