A Contribution to the Holiday Cheer

I know what I was doing a few years ago (2014 I think) as I was reminded by Facebook. See below.

Here is Santa riding in on my mobile robot at the Raspberry Jam I organised, possibly Christmas 2014, distributing sweets to any passing youngsters and/or students. Sadly I never got to see Santa as whenever I was present he seemed to have left the room.

Can I count this as a contribution towards the Holiday Special 20? Perhaps I'll have to do something else as well. Pity I still do not have the mobile robot chassis.

Gary,

They were either looking in the tub to see if they could get some free sweets or making sure that Santa didn't run over their toes on the electric cart. The cart could be a challenge to control sometimes - we had to cut the top speed. Plus, it was a bit front heavy and if you went down a slope forwards it was easy to tip over. It worked well though. I once spent the entire lunch break driving it round and round the engineering workshop area trying to see how long the batteries would last for. Turns out, it is longer than a lunch time.

I must have missed that robot as I do not remember seeing it before. Looks a fun build, maybe I'll have a go - one day!

Tariq,

I had four of these robots at one time, we used to race them on Open Days. Health & Safety freaked out but I just never used to tell them when we were doing it. Maybe one day I'll build another one. I have a plan .....
