All home/industrial automation systems needs alarms and alerts, but let's be honest, they haven't changed much in decades and still tend to be boring notifications/emails and/or flashing lights and/or mono/sweeping/alternating tone buzzers.
So how about creating an augmented alarm system that gave more contextual meaning to an alarm or alert, and was designed to be more attention grabbing without being annoying to those who do not need to be interrupted.
