I know it's past the deadline, but I need to post this update.
After playing around with the FSK default values, I managed to play a tone from the fox at 433MHz.

If I zoom in on one of the pulse packets I can see the modulation.
Range Test: I walked 0.35 miles (0.56 km) and still had a strong signal on the handheld. I'll need to do a PER test with the laptop in the car next.
