MakeVember - Mazes, BuzBots, and Joint Models

In the spirit of MakeVember I thought I would post a few things I am fooling around with.

I have been working on a kit of parts and craft supplies for my granddaughter to exercise her creativity, start her on the maker path and have some fun doing it.

The second video shows where I have gotten so far.

The first video deals with making robot mazes and boxes. Traditionally, making a maze for a robot has been a fairly major undertaking. I wanted to find a way to make a maze in a few minutes and I think I have finally come up with a solution.

The technique involves using craft foam board and 3D printed brackets. The same method can be used to make full boxes.

Excellent project Doug. Have just assembled a Ikea bed that used flat panels in grooves in wood to stiffen up an assembly. So routed wood or bolted together extrusion is another approach.

For larger builds there are the 'TrussFab' type designs using plastic pop bottles. TrussFab: Fabricating Sturdy Large-Scale Structures on Desktop 3D Printers (CHI'17) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoSzOL9k990&feature…

Great idea for a maze. I had a maze for robots many years ago, probably in the 90's, for the mobile robot maze solving competitions that were popular at that time. Regretfully I never actually got around…

Great idea for a maze. I had a maze for robots many years ago, probably in the 90's, for the mobile robot maze solving competitions that were popular at that time. Regretfully I never actually got around to making a working maze solving mobile robot. I had some none working ones, but none that actually found paths.
