The Secret Behind Santa's Sleigh

There are lots of theories about what powers Santa's sleigh.

There may be some magic on element14, but in this exercise we are exploring other possibilities....

The theory explored here is that the sleigh is powered by a drone...

I received a MicroDuino Quadcopter Kit as a finisher prize in the Sixth Sense Design Challenger earlier this year and I figured it could be used to power Santa's sleigh. I wanted to try it out this year and I wanted to get one last build in this year... so here is the build video:

Add a 3D printed sleigh and beam up a nice image of Boldt castle and a couple of black threads and you get Santa visiting Boldt Castle.

Hi Doug,

It was fun to watch the Quad-Copter assembly!
But, you have not mentioned when you first flew it, how many seconds into the flight before it inevitably flipped and crashed

I haven't figured out how to control a drone and a video camera at the same time yet. It is more than hard enough to control just one of them. I went out to watch the Canadian championship drone races last Fall and had a really hard time getting decent video of them. I do have a GoPro that I never use though - maybe I can strap it to my head and get some viewable snippets.
