Project14 | Build Projects that Involve Time and Space Using an Arduino Board of Your Choice!

Build time and space projects such as an astronomical clock, timer, or capture sounds of space via radio, gravity measuring, or a GPS clock using an Arduino board of your choice.  The theme idea comes from shabaz and milosrasic98 and can involve any project having to do with time or space.   This event celebrates the birthday of Project14 which launched on April 14th, 2017 as well as Arduino which celebrated its birthday late last month.   shabaz 's idea was that it could be anything to do with time and space. There was for instance a element14 presents video related to astronomy recently (I'm on mobile, so don't have the link as easily to hand) but there's plenty of scope to extend, e.g. could be an astronomical clock of some sort, or a timer of some sort, or capture the sounds of space via radio, or gravity measuring with Arduino (e.g. height and fall time calculation) or a GPS clock.  For the FX oriented, sci-fi sounds : ) Needless to say, bonus points if the Arduino goes subatomic.  milosrasic98  previously suggested a space related theme that could be anything from electronics for a model rocket, to a miniature NASA countdown clock, space-themed home decoration, module replica, and so on.

For this theme you can use any of the above ideas along with any Arduino board of your choice!

Your Chance to Win

Be Original
Stick to the Theme
  • You could come up with a clever name that make's your project memorable!
    • This project is your baby! Part of the fun of bringing something new into the world is coming up with a name.
  • Your project could introduce something new or that is not commercially available or affordable!
  • If you have an idea for a project that doesn't fit the current theme then submit your idea in the comments section of the monthly poll.
List the Steps
Submit Video Proof
  • Provide the steps you took to complete your project (text, video, or images).
    • This could be a step by step how-to-guide, vlog, schematics, coding, napkin drawings, voice narration, or whatever you think will be useful!
  • If it doesn't work that's fine, this is more about the journey than the end product.
  • A short video is all that is required but you can shoot as much video as you like.
  • You are encouraged to be creative and have as much fun as possible!

About Project14
Directions

Every month you'll have a new poll where you'll get to decide an upcoming project competition, based on your interests, that will take place a couple of months in advance. Themes are broad in scope so that everyone can participate regardless of skill set.

What are Monthly Themes?

  • Every month (around the 14th of each month) a new theme will be posted on Project14.
  • Submit your ideas (proposals) for your projects to get feedback from the rest of the community.
  • Submit a project entry in the Theme space once you start working on it.

What are Monthly Theme Polls?

  • Every month (around the 14th of each month) there is a project theme poll.
  • Vote on which project competition you want to see for the following upcoming theme.
    • The themes voted on during the previous poll decided the upcoming theme.
    • If you submit an idea for a theme that is not used then it can still be used in a future poll.
  • Themes comments and ideas from the comments section of the project theme poll.

Hi robogary , you aren’t limited to an Arduino board. In keeping with the theme you can use a 3rd party board such as a Pi Pico or esp32.

Cool topic. I am doing an interesting space project, but unfortunately it doesn't involve an Arduino or similar MCU.

Dont feel bad. I started the plans for this competition but as I said in a survey, spring and early summer is more busy for me than Christmas and New Years. Add to that, next month I add a new granddaughter to my grandchildren collection and another granddaughter in late summer. If E14 does a baby automation project, Im in.

It would seem from Tariq's answer above your project would comply.
