Update: The plan has changed a bit. By using the power of the BeagleBone AI, I can do a better job of facial recognition, and at faster speeds. Since I live in an apartment I have more than a few friends here, and they will be my guinea pigs. I can connect to my server via WiFi, and store the data images on my Linux system. If you have access a message will be sent to a small I2C display, that will say access granted, access denied and your image is not in the system. I should have a pool of 10 to 20 guinea pigs. Here is the problem: how do you know somebody left? You could have two cameras one on each side of the door. Or you could carry an RFI badge or fob.
This system will store entry and exit times records in my MySQL dB at my colocation facility.
