  • I've not used one or seen one in action myself, but the thing I've always been most interested is in how to effectively use and handle the array of digital microphones - what sort of processing algorithms are used to ensure real-time combining of the channels so as to maximise signal-to-noise ratio without introducing too much latency or resulting in strange-sounding audio due to constant changes in the phase ... whether there is anything that takes into account multiple signal reflections (echoes) and compensates for that or tracks someone "walking around" the room. Whether this could be used to map the room itself (to some extent) or give an indication of where a person is in the room from their speech.
