Project14 | Recorded Live Stream: Robotics: Tribute to Gordon McComb: Community Presenters with Special Guest MATRIX Labs!

We will be closing off the Month of Robots with a special live stream on Robotics.  Like our first live stream, it will be the first live stream on the community where community members present.  We'll feature robotics themed show & tells from our community members as well as a robotics show & tell from our special guests, MATRIX Labs.  This live stream will also be a tribute to Gordon McComb, Father of Hobby Robotics, whose Robot Builder's Bonanza was credited with making robotics projects accessible to the masses when it was first published in 1987.  The 5th of edition of the Robot Builder's Bonanza was published posthumously in December of last year.

Robotics has come a long way since 1987, this live stream will Show & Tell Robotics Projects in honor of Gordon McComb.  Helping us do this will be community member presenters who have a love of robotics projects.  Community Member Presenters jomoenginer , carmelito , and dubbie will be joined by returning community presenters balearicdynamics , Sean_Miller , and gam3t3ch . Special Guest MATRIX Labs will be returning to reveal new features of their Pixar Zigbee Lamp Robot Arm project and answer any questions community members have about the MATRIX Voice.

Let MATRIX Labs know about any questions you have about the MATRIX Voice in the comments below:

    Hi!

Both of the Matrix devices have FPGA so I would like to see more about how we can use that FPGA to do various tasks. Also, I would like to know more about its use cases (other than Home Automation). Also more regarding the NLU of the library.

    Hi!

Has Matrix Labs ever considered a baby module, perhaps stamp-sized, with just the audio features? Something like a SOM, with just I2S and a configuration interface (I2C or SPI). Reason being, it could be a quickly inserted into designs where ordinarily a digital I2S mic might have been used, but with the benefits of the audio processing (echo cancellation etc) features that Matrix Labs has developed. Something not with 8 mics, just enough (e.g. 2-3) to keep it small, but to allow the algorithms to still work.
