I think mesh networks will be a really great topic because it is a key for Industry 4.0 revolution. With new protocols and ways to use mesh network, this can provide an insight. In huge farms, factories, or even our houses - mesh networks can be implemented anywhere. It will be a fun one for sure

I think they're much harder for a Project14, which only provides a relatively short amount of time to realize the project.
if you have to make multiple instances of hardware and deal with comms and routing between them all, that's a lot more work, I'm sure some could manage it, but maybe it is outside the time limit available for most people to work on a short project?
Maybe it could be a more general theme, for instance the RF theme this month could have incorporated mesh networks entries, but there were not any.
Actually, you are probably correct. Even I had commented on original page to make a mesh network but didn't have any time at all. because of exams and also it had to be done from scratch.
But, if some hardware like Particle Xeons and Boron are provided (Like a Giveaway! ) then it will be easy to get mesh network working and it will provide time to work on some creative projects helpful to the community. Baceause mesh networks have a great potential. Winner of IBM code for challenge 2018 was one such great example: http://bit.ly/IBM-cfc-18
