I like the PCB idea. I think these thinks should have more of a design element.
Motherboard designers put quite a bit of effort into the aesthetic, I think this would be fun.

ROFL - At first glance, the electro-mechanical photo looked like a drum. Now thats a project, a drum with automated drumsticks ! An infinite drum roll, wouldnt the folks at home like that. :-) The best child's gift is a loud drum (when they are someone else's child)
