So the seedlings have grown to a stage that they are ready for transplanting from the propagator to the aquaponics, hydroponics and soil systems.

They have grown slow [very slow], this is an expected problem in England during November where the light intensity has dropped considerably. But as it is a comparison experiment we should still be able to gather some useful data.

 

Results from propagator experiment, If you recall we used two types of rock wool cubes. One set had been pre soaked in PH and EC solutions the other just the Ec and PH was left at its original value. The video shows the results, very little visual difference between the two, similar growths similar colours and similar root structures.

    Thanks DAB, Ive done this comparison in the past and they grow better without the pots. The water flow is only around 1l/min to 2l/min so only a thin layer on the bottom of the tube, celery and other tall plants are much easier to place in the NFT than the lettuce but after a while you get the hang of it.

    It will be interesting to see how well the plants grow after being plunked down into the solution.

     

    I suspect that as long as your fluid flow is low volume that they should stay in place and grow well.
