How about some sort of training aid / tool based theme ? "train to gain"... "learn to earn..."
We've seen the likes of the Ben Heck Show Hex / Logic game to improve numeracy skills.
Intel had their 'smart glove' to train / quality control assembly line tasks.
And after participating in my first ever dance lesson this week I think I'm in need of a smart dance mat to practice my steps on - footprints that light up in sequence optionally timed to a count / metronome / music with some sort of feedback indication to measure progress, although not sure what the best sensor technology to do this would be though.
I like the remote monitoring/controlling idea which fits in line with projects I already have in place.
One thing that I have thought about given all of the attention the Voice Assistants are getting, is that what if someone does not have a voice or does not have the ability to verbalize commands? This could be anything from a Stroke survivor or an injuring to the neck or mouth area or someone who has either lost or never had the ability to hear, thus affecting their speech. What sort of option would these folks have? One option I could see would be Voice-less Assistants that take gesture or touch inputs to send commands. Something with Vision capability to recognize sign language would be a bit difficult to accomplish in a monthly contest, but it would be interesting to see what could be done in this area to assist those that lack the ability to say "Hey Google" or "Alexa, what's the weather?". Perhaps this could be just a touch sensor with predefined options. This could also be a way to honor the life of Stephen Hawking since his only means or communication was based on very minor facial movements.
Can we perhaps start a summary list of already suggested themes ? I'm starting to lose track of what has already been suggested.
I was going to suggest something along 'assistive technologies' as a theme but I can't recall if it has already been suggested or not. There was Ben Heck's ultrasound 'seeing eye hat' but I can't recall if it was suggested as a Project14 theme or a Ben Heck marketable project.
