Meet the little girl who may be smarter than Albert Einstein. Eight-year-old Adhara Pérez is reported to have an IQ range well into the triple-digit, making slightly higher than Einstein and Stephen Hawking, both of whom were said to have an IQ of 160.
The Mexico City Native learned about her high IQ when her mother, Nallely Sanchez, took her to therapy to help Perez dealing with excessive bullying in school since she suffers from Asperger’s syndrome. By the time Perez turned five, she finished elementary school. The following year she finished middle school, and by eight years old, she has completed high school.
Pérez is currently double-majoring in industrial engineering in mathematics and systems engineering. And if that wasn’t enough, she has also written a book called Do Not Give Up and was featured on Forbes Mexico’s 100 Most Powerful Women.
The young girl also aims to make a difference for other kids. She’s currently working on a smart bracelet that will help monitor the emotions and wellbeing of differently able children. The bracelet will be able to anticipate and help prevent seizures and other outbursts. With so much already accomplished at an age when most kids are more concerned with playtime, Pérez clearly has a bright future ahead of her.

Adhara Perez isn’t the only young prodigy making headlines. Laurent Simons from Belgium is set to be one of the youngest people in the world to graduate from a university at nine-years-old. Born in Ostende, Belgium, Simons currently studies electrical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. He started university when he was eight and is on track to finish the three-year program in 10 months. If he finishes his final project about a brain connected electrical chip, he’ll graduate in December.
Though many are quick to label Simmons as a boy genius, he and his parents are quick to note he’s just like any other kid. When he’s not studying or in school, he enjoys playing Fortnite and Minecraft and loves watching shows on Netflix. He’s also a bit of an Instagram celebrity. With over 24,000 followers, he’s shared photos of himself doing everyday things like playing with his dog and spending time with his family. He’s also making the rounds in the media prepping for various interviews.
So what’s next for Simmons? Once he graduates, he says he wants to study medicine, do a Ph.D., and make artificial organs. His grandparents both suffer from heart conditions, and he wants to help others like them.

Dave Grohl should watch out because this young musician could take his job. Five-year-old Jeremiah Travis is a drummer whose talented skills have gone viral online. Now, his passion for drumming has earned him a full college scholarship to Alcorn State University in Mississippi.
When Travis graduates from high school in 2032, he’ll have the chance to attend the university and play in the Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite Band, if he chooses to.
“Now, to know that he is 5 and has a full scholarship made me feel so good. I am just amazed at his playing level with him being so young,” his mother Nicole Jackson told the Mississippi Clarion-Ledger.
According to Jackson, Travis has been playing the drums since he was a baby. While Travis does enjoy playing video games and watching TV, he mainly spends his free time banging on the drums or watching his favorite movie, Drumline. Chesteron Frye, the band director at St. Helena College and Career Academy, says Travis is constantly working on his skills and aims to get better.
Travis is currently a snare drummer at St. Helena College and Career Academy in Greensburg, Louisiana. You can often find him performing in halftime and sidelines shows, including New Orleans Pelicans basketball games.
Climate change activist Greta Thunberg gets San Francisco mural in her honor. The mural is part of a nonprofit organization’s project to celebrate climate change activists. (Image credit CNN)
Swedish teen climate activist Greta Thunberg has left her mark on the political landscape, and now she’s leaving her mark in San Francisco. Thunberg is the face of a new mural in downtown San Francisco located near Union Square. The mural features Thunberg’s face with her lips pursed as if giving us a disapproving look. And this is very much intentional according to Paul Scott, executive director of OneAtmosphere.org, the nonprofit behind the project.
The organization wanted to create art celebrating climate activists, and Thunberg was the first person that came to mind. And with the impact she’s on the political sphere, choosing her for the mural makes sense. At only 16, Thunberg has been the voice of fighting climate change. She’s delivered impassioned speeches about why the issue needs to be taken seriously at various rallies around the country and in front of the United Nations Climate Action Summit.
She’s also testified before the U.S. Congress before a joint hearing of two House committees on the global climate crisis. Her message was simple: do something.
"I am submitting this report as my testimony because I don’t want you to listen to me," Thunberg told lawmakers. "I want you to listen to the scientists. And I want you to unite behind the science. And then I want you to take real action."
Thunberg continues traveling around the world, educating the masses on climate change, why it needs to be taken seriously, and why it’s time to fight back.
14-year old girl enters Guinness Book of World Records for skating 400 meters blindfolded. Ojal Nalavade celebrates her new world record. (Image credit N Hemanth)
Skating can be a challenge, but have you ever done it blindfolded covering a wide distance? A 14-year-old girl has, and she has set a new world record. Ojal Nalavade from the city of Hubli in Karnataka recently made her way into the Guinness Book of World Records for covering a distance of 400 meters in 51 seconds on roller skates while blindfolded.
People gathered as early as 5:30 am near Chetana College to watch Nalavade set a world record. Officials from the Guinness Book of Records had given her a time of 60 seconds to complete the course to set the record. Luckily, Nalavade only needed 53 seconds to achieve this goal. There were a total of three attempts, and the third attempt was declared as the record.
“Skating fast with blindfold is a rarity. She has achieved it with determination and hard work,” her coach, Akshay Suryawanshi, told The New Indian Express, adding that Nalavade would wake up early to practice every day on the same road where she set the record.
"My parents, coach and family were a big support. I shall achieve more with their support in the future," Ojal told the media while thanking everyone for the support.
Turkey child prodigy is a multi-instrumentalist master. This 10-year-old can play 10 different instruments and doesn’t have any plans to stop. (Image credit Hurriyet Daily News)
Most people find it challenging to learn how to master one instrument. This doesn’t seem to be a problem for Eren Yavuz, a 10-year-old boy from Turkey who can play 10 different musical instruments. Yavuz started his love for music at four years old. His father struggled to learn how to play cura, a stringed musical instrument, but Yavuz quickly mastered it with his tiny fingers.
Some of the instruments Yavuz can play include the oud, cumbus (mandolin with a metal body), sazbus (mandolin with saz handle), long handle bağlama, short handle bağlama, violin, violin bow, guitar, rhythm instrument and cura.
By the time Yavuz turned six, he was taking lessons to play 10 different instruments. And he doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Yavuz’s says the young musician is planning on learning how to play piano and qanoon next. The sixth-grade attributes his talent to hard work and the encouragement of his parents. And while Yavuz hopes to get a good education in the future, his current focus right now is playing music.
“I play instruments until I sleep. I want to be a good musician,” said Eren. “I love music, so also my husband,” added his mother Serap Yavuz. We are very happy and proud about our son’s talent. Music gives our family peace of mind.”
