Introduce Yourselves!

The great part about E14 is that the community is great, and you can make some great connections. With that in mind it may help to introduce yourself to the group, and so I've thought up a couple questions that might aid in some of those connections.

  • Name and Locale?
  • Type of employment (Elementary, Secondary, Collegiate, Student, Enginering)?
  • What have you used the Rpi for (or what do you plan to use it for)?
  • What is your biggest goal you have for your Rpi, or what do you want to use it for, but might not have the skills for yet?

I figure I better be the one to start. I'm John Moosemiller (but I guess you can already see that), and for now I'm living in the Chicago Area, but not for long.... I'll explain Currently I am student…

Hi I'm Steve Woods and I am currently working as a Teaching Assistant in the Computer Technology department of the Trafalgar School in Downton (near Salisbury, Wilts, UK)

Trafalgar School is a secondary school with 560 students who take traditional ICT lessons leading to GCSE. We are very keen to introduce the Raspberry Pi and Piface Digital into the curriculum and have already demonstrated a few python programs to parents and students at a recent Open Evening

Plan to adopt the Raspberry Pi in our after school computer club as well as teaching Python in classes.

This is great to hear! If you ever have any questions about how the Pi might be utilized this is certainly a great place to go! I also like to see the interest in Python as the primary interest.

With Python and the Raspberry Pi as focuses I'm currently writing an intro-to-Python repository on Github that should be nearing it's beta level soon. Once this is released we will be releasing a Raspberry Pi image that will streamline the process for installation. Right now you can try it out on any computer by using the link below.

Hope this helps, and let us know if you have any questions!
