Help with a Raspberry Pi Temperature Probe

I am really stumped with this, and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I am trying to get my DS18B20 waterproof temperature probe to show up in the /sys/bus/w1/devices folder. I should see the sensor as 28-XXX and w1_master_bus. I, however, am seeing neither.

I believe that the probe is connected properly.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

The first problem was in the kernel, and the fix I pointed to got me there. The problem with the t=85000 must have been a connection problem. That is the only thing I could think of. I tightened everything…

I'm struggling to see the value of the resistor ...but.

Thanks Mark. That is the guide I have been following. I am checking the connections again. Its a new error on me. I don't know why I am seeing an empty folder there.

So what do you think was the cause of it not working?

FWIW I did it a year or so go and didn't have an issue.

The problem with the t=85000 must have been a connection problem. That is the only thing I could think of. I tightened everything up and the next morning I saw temperatures being recorded. Yeah!
