RaspberryPiStopMotionAnimation.pdf

This is a set of instructions you can use to make stop motion animation with the Raspberry Pi.  It draws really heavily from the wonderful Raspberry Pi Worksheet.  I added a portion at the end that describes how you can get the images off of the Raspberry Pi using WinSCP and how to turn them into a movie using Movie Maker. 

 

This is a wonderful project.  If you have the Pi Camera, this is a great way to use it for making stop motion movies.  It is a good introduction to the GPIO pins, and a great way to take pictures rapidly and manually.  If you have any comments or thoughts, please let me know.  I would be happy to make updates!

    Agreed very much your post, I am collecting all the references to this theme as I am developing hardware and software for stop-motion filming just based on Raspberry PI. I have read in almost all the documents and sites I have found on the net tutorials that implies the use of desktop applications, just like Movie Maker in Windows instead of any other user-friendly tool on other platforms, from Mac to Ubuntu and so on. This may have sense - and frankly I see almost limiting - with microcontroller boards like Arduino, or the large number of action cameras like the GoPro, in the case of the Raspberry PI the great advantage is that this is a Linux machine, so we are able to export the finished job with automated processes.
