Shedule & Homework Robot - Introduction (part #1)

7 May 2015

Good day comrades!

Today we begin a new project called "Schedule & Homework Robot".

The main idea: an Arduino robot that moves out from the box at the end of lecture, tells the homework, announces the end of the lecture, and lets the students go home.

If all goes well - at the end of the project I plan to test the robot during the lessons (I am a teacher at the university) and to find out what my students think about this innovation image

The main feature of the robot will be a special method of sound generation (using matlab), but we'll talk about it in the future article.

I plan to write a total of 8 articles. I'm going to write about once a week.

The plan is as follows:

  • week 1 - Introduction (this article);
  • week 2 - Sound system (hardware);
  • week 3 - Sound system (software & first test);
  • week 4 - Bonus article;
  • week 5 - Unboxing;
  • week 6 - Hardware;
  • week 7 - Final (or not?);
  • week 8 - Postludium.

About week 4: I think that the package with all components needed to build a robot will come to me the next month (this is normal for Russia). So, for this reason, I plan to start the project from my own Arduino Duemilanove 328p board. Once I get all necessary components - the fun begins!

    You know, 50% students study diligently but 50% is a candidates for go away. This robot is a trying to increase the first group.

    Can't wait to see the Matlab audio thing in action. Good luck with your project.

    Sounds awesome. I'll have to implement some of these ideas into my own projects.

    Nice concept.

    Hopefully the students will pay attention ... but does that mean they don't listen to you during the lecture.?
